At Top Dog Turf, we get asked daily if you can lay artificial grass directly onto concrete or patios.
NO! Not if you have dogs you can't!
Many dogs hate to do 'their business' on paving or hard surfaces, but just laying a piece of AstroTurf down isn't the answer.
WHY?
Because the dog urine will run through the drainage holes in the synthetic turf and coagulate underneath your bit of grass.
Within a few weeks your grass and patio will be stinking of dog urine, and your dog will prefer to pee in your bedroom.
The urine will seep between the paving slabs and contaminate the sand, or be absorbed into any slightly porous cement or concrete surfaces.
What's the answer?
The answer is to lift the grass, to allow free drainage of wee and water.
These step by step videos will show you exactly what you need, and how to quickly create a dog toilet on your patio or concrete slab.
It's the ideal solution for people in rental properties, or who are looking for a quick temporary that encourages their puppies or dogs to go peepee on the patio!

I found this to be really interesting. We have a Labrador and a back garden that is all slabs, this gives us a much better option for him and is easy to install
